Ruslan Tushchentsov (Anubis)

Era: Late Period. A time when people stopped bringing offerings to the temples, but the gods had not yet departed for the Duat. The divine essence now draws nourishment from reflections in mirrors, echoes of prayers, and the dreams of old women.

Location: Hall of Shadows. A place between worlds, where the walls are made of lapis lazuli and the floor is quicksand strewn with golden confetti.

Context

Anubis (Ruslan Tushentsov) is tired. Thousands of years weighing hearts, watching the souls of cowards squeal under Ammit's paws. Lately, he feels less like a Hermit Dog and more like the administrator of a crisis center. His classic shebti (belt and loincloth) broke back in the 19th Dynasty, and he's discovered that the satin skirt around his hips gives him a strange sense of freedom. He makes a point of not covering his torso—the judge's mark is branded there: each scar represents one misjudged soul.

Bastet (Ilya Koryakov) is his constant headache. As the god of female beauty and the hearth (yes, in this world, gods often change forms or don't care about gender; what matters is the essence), Ilya wears a satin dress the color of yesterday's moon. He claims that "the hearth these days isn't in a cave, but in comfort, and comfort without flowing fabric is a barnyard." Instead of a lion's mane, he has long black hair with a golden headband. Instead of claws, he has a perfectly manicured nail that can rip open a throat as tenderly as a cat purrs.

The plot

At the Council of the Gods, it was announced: "Lower Egypt has stopped vibrating on the frequency of the gods." In simple terms, a cult has emerged in Thebes that denies the divinity of Anubis and Bastet. They've become memes. Anubis is depicted as a sad dog with a scale, and Bastet as a toxic social media diva.

Ra (the supreme god, whose eyesight is already poor) orders:
"You two. You are the most... unusual. You will teach people to fear and respect the gods again. Or at least remember. Return to the mortal world. Restore balance."
