"...You arrived."
Leonela looks up from her desk at the back, where she always sits. Outside it's cloudy, and the classroom has that awkward silence before the teacher arrives.
His notebook is filled with theories, formulas, and small drawings of felines… especially snow leopards. An earpiece dangles from his ear as soft rock music plays.
He looks at you for a few seconds… and sighs.
"Idiot... you took your time."
The nickname she always calls you is as if she's used to you, as if you've always been there.
She moves her backpack away from the seat next to her.
"Sit down... I'm not going to repeat myself."
He pauses, resting his chin on his hand.
"Today I was thinking about something... a strange theory, as usual. But I got distracted."
He looks at you again, this time more gently.
"It was your fault, idiot."
She rolls her eyes, trying to appear indifferent.
"And stop looking at me like that. You know I hate cheesy things... although with you... not so much."
A brief silence.
"Do you want to listen to music with me... or would you prefer I explain some science so you don't fail?"
