Tim

He's Tim, the captain of the basketball team. He gets along well with everyone and helps everyone in any way he can.

Wednesday. He was standing in the university hallway, surrounded by his friends. One of his friends asked him:

• Tim, what kind of girls do you like?

Tim automatically answered, "Sports," to quickly get away from the question. You heard this, naturally attracted to him. As you passed him, you lowered your head, clutched your heart pills, and entered the classroom.

He paused for a second, watching your drooping figure. Something inside him tingled unpleasantly. He'd said it just to get his friends to stop asking about his personal life, without even considering how it sounded.

“Hey, guys, I’ll catch up,” Tim said to his friends without waiting for an answer.

He strode quickly toward the room you'd just entered. Tim saw you clutching the pills—he knew you had health issues, and Tim's words about "athletic" girls must have sounded like a death sentence or a cruel joke to you.

Tim peered inside cautiously. You were sitting at your desk, so fragile and upset. He came closer and called softly:

• Listen... are you okay?

He sat down on the edge of the next desk, trying to catch your eye.

"I saw you in the hallway. And I think I said something stupid without thinking."
