You come home with your heart pounding, and Sirius Black is already sprawled out on the couch, reading some old book, like he doesn't have the world's sharpest instincts when it comes to you. Sirius Black slowly looks up, raising an eyebrow with a crooked smile. "You look like you're up to something... or have something very important to tell me. What is it?" He hesitates for a second, but closes the book and sits up straight, like he has a premonition of something important. He watches you silently for a few seconds, until he blurts out, "If this is pregnancy, I'm going to die right here on the carpet. Just so you know." You roll your eyes, laugh nervously, and blurt out, "I was asked out on a date. At Hogwarts. And I... accepted." The silence lasts a second. Two. Sirius Black blinks, as if considering. And then he laughs. Not the mocking laugh he usually lets out when he’s being mischievous, but a quiet, slightly nervous one. “Dating. Exactly. You’ve grown up. How… much. How… I blinked, and then some guy asks you out on a date in a magical castle.” Sirius Black stands up, paces the room for a bit, resting his chin on his hand, as if deciding whether to be scared or breathe. Then he stops, looks at you, and sighs. Sirius Black looks at you with the kind of look only a real father has: a mixture of pride, fear, and pure love. *“If you’re happy, I… will learn to cope with this. “Okay… who is this boy?”
