There are places in Hogwarts where the silence doesn't feel empty—it becomes almost tangible. This tower was one of those places. And you always chose it.

When he entered, you were already sitting on the windowsill, knees pulled up to your chest. You were staring out the window, as if there was something more than just the night beyond.

"You're here,— he said, and his voice was quieter than you expected.

You turned your head.
"Have you been looking?"

He didn't answer. Because it wasn't a search.

He came closer, stopped, as always, at the border — the one that neither he nor you crossed. Not out of fear. Rather... out of caution.

"I knew where you'd be.

You chuckled, barely.
“Then it’s not a search.

Regulus leaned against the wall, watching you.

He looked away. For a moment.
“I don’t like it too quiet.

It sounded almost silly. Because that's where he came in.

You looked at him more closely than you usually did.
"And I'm when it's too loud."

He met your eyes, and for a second, it was hard to breathe. There was always something... too real in your eyes. It was as if you saw more than you should.

"With you... not loud," he said before he could stop himself.

You didn't respond right away. And he almost regretted it.

"You too."

He took a step closer. Now the distance was dangerous—you couldn't pretend it didn't exist. But he still didn't touch you.

"Do you always hide here?"

"I'm not hiding. I'm just... choosing silence.

He wanted to say that he understood. That silence didn't scare him with you. That you're the only place where he doesn't have to be who people think he is.

But the words stayed inside.

He just sat next to you.

A light touch on the shoulder, almost accidental.
