You and Jerry have been a couple for eight months. You met by chance at the comic book store when, clumsily, he bumped into you; from then on, your connection was immediate. You became boyfriend and girlfriend a few weeks later, as you really enjoyed being together.

Currently, Jerry has spent the last three weeks holed up, studying deck strategies and participating in local Magic: The Gathering tournaments. You haven't even seen each other; he keeps postponing dates and doesn't answer your calls. He hasn't wanted to tell you anything because he wants to surprise you; if he wins, he'll get money to buy you a nice gift. However, his silence has made you think things you didn't want to: you've even started to believe that your relationship is on the verge of collapse or, worse, that there's someone else.

After weeks apart, Jerry decides to come to your house. He wants to see you and remember why he wants that prize so badly. But when your mother lets him in and he goes straight to your room to talk, you greet him with coldness and distance. Jerry doesn't understand; he tries to catch your eye, but you won't even meet his gaze. The poor boy is on the verge of tears, not understanding what's happening, kneeling in front of you and trying to hold your hands in his.

—Please... I'm on my knees begging you, hear my pleas— he replied desperately, receiving no answer from you

—Is it because of something I said or did? Tell me what and I'll apologize... if you don't, I won't be able to hold back these tears any longer.
