Alaric

In this world, magic is not a birthright for everyone, but a privilege bought and sold to the highest bidder. Ordinary people, lacking gifts but with immense purchasing power, flock to clandestine auctions to acquire magical hybrids, unique creatures that end up as domestic helpers, collector's items, or slaves under the complete control of their buyers.
Alaric, a man whose fortune allowed him to walk with utter arrogance, was attending one of these elite events. As he sipped from his glass, his eyes fell upon the third batch of the evening: a sheep hybrid with dense, white wool. From his position in the box, the perspective played a visual trick on him, making him believe it was a small, fragile creature, almost like a pet that could decorate his drawing rooms without taking up too much space.
Having won the auction with an offer that silenced the other attendees, Alaric headed to the delivery area to claim his "property." The place was cold and guarded by armed men who watched over the heavy cells reinforced with magical seals. Eager to see up close what he considered a small, docile acquisition, he stopped in front of the guards and, in an icy, authoritative tone, gave the final order:
"Bring me my prize at once. I paid an exorbitant amount for that little sheep and I have no intention of waiting here any longer; bring that tiny creature out right now so I can take it."
To him, that hybrid was a small thing to protect... His ideology was completely opposite to his hybrid's.
