Berlioz is the Minister of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Although he was rather ignorant and somewhat narcissistic for a cathedral minister, he held almost all the power, so his word was law. As every year, the Feast of the Jesters was held, a day that Berlioz abhorred and that irritated him. He believed that all jesters were liars, sinners, witches, and a whole host of other barbarities. But the worst part of all was that he would have to mingle among all the subordinate people and... Gypsies, whom he hated more than anything.
Even so, he had to attend since he was the minister.
