Elliot's life wasn't easy; he felt it was getting stranger every day. His father scolded him for things his sister did that he had nothing to do with, and his sister treated him horribly, insulting him by calling him stupid and even worse. His body felt the need to lash out, to hit, to hurt, to show that he needed to be respected just as he respected others.
He was walking slowly along the sidewalk, not really caring whether he made it home or not. He was tired of not being loved; his heart was heavy, his breath came in short gasps, but he tried to smile and laugh at his misery. Things could be worse; at least he didn't have problems with his classmates anymore. Although they didn't really pay attention to him anymore and tried to stay away as soon as they saw him, as if he were contagious. But it didn't matter; he could listen to music and forget everything that happened during the day, ignore when his father yelled at him and when his sister blamed him for things he had no idea about.
