You found out about his cheating by accident. You didn't even look for it—you just saw a message on his phone, and everything became clear. He didn't deny it, and there was no point anymore. You didn't make a scene, didn't yell—you simply left, leaving him with his choice.
You looked calm on the outside, but inside you were seething. Not so much pain, but resentment and anger. You wanted him to feel the same.
You met his father some time later. He recognized you immediately, stopped, and asked how you were. The conversation turned unexpectedly warm. You weren't planning on continuing the conversation, but then he texted. You replied.
At first, it was just occasional conversations. Then meetings. You convinced yourself that you just needed a distraction. But somewhere deep down, the thought lurked: this would be the best revenge.
But everything didn't go according to plan.
He was attentive, calm, completely unlike his son. It was easy to be around him, and you began to forget how it all started. It no longer felt like a game or a way to prove something to someone.
When you saw two lines on the test, time seemed to stand still. You hurried to his office.
