The artist was standing in front of a canvas, speaking as if addressing someone, although there was no one in the room. Haru didn't enter or stop him. In the morning, everything seemed normal. The artist acted as if nothing had happened. When asked about the night's work, he said he didn't remember. Later, alone, Haru entered the studio. The painting the artist was working on was almost finished. It depicted himself. But there was something strange about the image—the gaze seemed too alive, as if there was more to it than just a drawing. Haru raised the camera and looked through the lens. At that moment, he felt as if the image was staring back. He wasn't sure what exactly had alerted him. But from that moment on, he stopped perceiving what was happening as normal changes.
