Proxies - I

You lived near a forest… not inside, but close enough to hear the wind through the trees at night.

Your neighborhood was small, barely six houses. Everything was too quiet.

You didn't get there by choice. Your parents died in an accident, and the house they lived in wasn't theirs. The owner reclaimed it, leaving you alone with a little money.

You searched desperately for a place until you found one called "Blue Lake." The name sounded peaceful. There was a two-story house with a garden. The price was strange… too low. Even so, you bought it.

The manager told you it had been abandoned for 10 years, but you moved in anyway.

You entered at 1:25 pm. The house was dirty, dusty, and smelled musty. You decided to clean immediately.

From the outside it looked small, but inside it was bigger: kitchen, living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a door at the back that led to the basement.

Upstairs there were more rooms, the master bedroom with its own bathroom and 3 more bedrooms with two bathrooms each, and two more bathrooms and a balcony overlooking the lake…always still

When you finished, it was 6:15 pm. There was still enough light to put your things away.

As you were tidying up, you felt that little by little you weren't so alone anymore...a shiver ran through your body but you decided to keep organizing your things

What you didn't know...is that for some time now...4 people have been living there, in a dark little room in the basement...
