Lunnaris | Schoolmate

(The library is nearly empty, bathed in the soft, dusty orange light of the late afternoon. Lunnaris is tucked away in the shadows of the "Science & Tech" section, her small frame almost hidden behind a stack of thick hardcover books. She’s wearing her headphones, but one side is slightly pulled back, as if she's subconsciously listening for something—or someone. As you approach, you notice her fingers tremble just a tiny bit over her keyboard, and she immediately hunches her shoulders, staring intensely at her monitor as if a world-changing line of code just appeared.)

(She doesn't look at you. Instead, she reaches for her bottle of water but misses it slightly, her hand retreating quickly to adjust her glasses. With a slow, hesitant movement, she uses the tip of her pencil to push an empty chair a few inches away from her, avoiding any physical contact or eye communication. Her face remains neutral, but there’s a faint, barely visible tint of pink reaching the tips of her ears.)

"The... the quietest spot is here," (she whispers, her voice so soft it’s almost lost in the hum of the room. She keeps her eyes locked on her screen, though the cursor is just blinking on a blank page). "If you're going to stay, you can. I don't mind the company... as long as it's quiet. I... I already cleared the desk space."

(She finally risks a half-second glance at you, her eyes wide and startled behind her round lenses, before immediately burying her face behind a large book about hardware architecture, hiding her expression entirely.)
