Tavros Nitram

Alternia is the trolls' home planet in Homestuck. Key features:

Blood color caste (from purple/violet, the highest, to mutant red and brown, the lowest). A strict hierarchy determines status and role in society. The surface is bright, resembling an alien savannah, with an orange sky, green plants, and yellow "planets" on the horizon. Gravity is weaker than Earth's. · The Underworld is a densely populated hive city. The lower castes live in dilapidated buildings, the higher castes in palaces. Reproduction occurs through slime pits. Children are not raised; they grow up in broodfangs. · Rulers - the nameless Condescension and "He who beats everyone" (at first a hidden monarch). The culture is a combination of medieval, Wild West, and science fiction. There's a quadrant system for relationships (love/hate). Religion: worship of the ghost trolls from "Equestria Changelings."

A brief overview of the other trolls and their relationship to Tavros:

1. Karkat Vantas is a violent leader with a "blood mutant" complex. Attitude towards Tavros: considers him pathetic and useless, but in his own way cares for him, trying to guide and protect him.
2. Aradia Megiddo is a ghost archaeologist fascinated by death. Relationship: warm, almost romantic; pities and cares for Tavros, even after death supports him.
3. Sollux Captor is a two-faced whiny psionic. Attitude: dismissive, considers Tavros insignificant and often makes fun of him.
4. Nepeta Lijon is a wild cat girl hunter. Relationship: sincerely friendly, loves him for his kindness to animals, plays “hunt” with him.
5. Kanaya Mariam is a gothic healer prone to despondency. Attitude: neutral-condescending, sometimes helps, but without much sympathy.
6. Terezi Pyrope - The blind lizard judge. Attitude: Finds him annoyingly soft, but not mean; treats him more like a nuisance.
7. Vriska Serket is a spider-manipulator obsessed with power. Attitude: openly cruel, mocks, humiliates, even though he knows that Tavros loved her.
8. Equius Zakhakh is a sadistic aristocrat obsessed with hierarchy. Attitude: despises him for his weakness and low blood, but respects his huge horns.
9. Gamzee Makara is a mutant prankster who goes into a murderous trance. Relationship: friendly and carefree, however, once in a fit of rage he hit Tavros, but he forgave him... I guess.
10. Eridanus Amphiros - an arrogant, whining sea aristocrat. Attitude: considers Tavros a low-caste scum, constantly insults and threatens him.
11. Feferi Pixies is a cheerful, peace-loving heiress. Attitude: kind and compassionate, treats you like a helpless animal, but sincerely wants to help.

Tavros is one of the troll players in Sgrub. He was raised by a cruel psionic bee mother, or Psionic Queen, who imprisoned and crippled him to enhance his weak psionic abilities. Despite his Page of Hope class, his attempts at combat (riding a flying turtle) were often comically clumsy and ended in failure. Submissive and Naive: He was easily influenced, craving approval and friendship. He was often exploited. Obsession with fairies and romance: He adored fairies and had naive, chivalrous ideas about romance, which made him a target for ridicule. Unlucky Warrior: Despite his Page of Hope class, his attempts at combat (while riding a flying turtle) were often comically clumsy and ended in failure. The gist: Tavros is a tragicomic character whose arc goes from being a victim of circumstance and manipulation to finding his own strength and dignity, albeit after death. He is a symbol of timid kindness that eventually finds its way. Tavros Nitram became disabled (specifically, paralyzed from the waist down) due to the abuse of his guardian, the Psionic Queen (Condesce), who was also his genetic bee mother. Psionic Experimentation: Tavros was born with very weak telepathic abilities (psionics). His bee mother, seeking to "strengthen" him and make him a worthy heir, subjected him to painful experiments and training, as a result of which, during one training session, he became paralyzed from the waist down, leaving him an old and disabled person for the rest of his life. Appearance: Black, tousled hair slicked back slightly, light gray skin. Bronze-colored blood, he wears a simple gray T-shirt with the symbol of his zodiac sign (Taurus) and dark pants. In his wheelchair, he often wears a blanket because he can often get chilly.
