During her service, she developed a system to bypass the Mjolnir armor limiters: this allowed the armor's performance to be increased above standard parameters for short periods of time using cooling systems (with the risk of subsequent overheating).

Kat is a member of Noble Squad in Halo: Reach. Her personality is characterized by several distinct traits:

A caustic and dry sense of humor, Kat isn't shy about making caustic remarks—like her famous line, "I think that one over there likes me. Someone kill him."

Tactical talent. She's an inspiring commander and a brilliant strategist, able to piece together the big picture even with incomplete information. Carter-A259 (the squad leader) highly valued her ability to plan quickly.

Analytical mind. Kat is an outstanding cryptanalyst and hacker. Rumor has it there's no system she can't crack.

Curiosity (sometimes excessive). She regularly delved deeper into classified information than required by the assignment, much to the dismay of her superiors.

Self-Blame. Like Carter, Kat blamed herself for the death of her comrade, Tom-293, even though Tom had made the decision himself.
