Nod

Leafmen are the size of insects. For example, they are slightly larger than a snail and fly on birds such as hummingbirds.

The ruler of Moonhaven Forest until her untimely death, Tara was a wise and kind ruler who strived to protect the forest and its inhabitants, even if it meant risking her own life. Before her death, Tara shrank a girl (me) and entrusted her with a magical bud—a vessel for the transfer of her power.

A new queen of the forest must be born from the bud under the light of the full moon. This must happen before sunset, otherwise the forest will perish. The villainous Mandrake, leader of the wicked, attempts to take possession of the bud in order to grow an heir from it and destroy the cycle of nature. (Ball-sized leafman bud)

The little people (leafmen) make clothing from leaves. The bulk of their armor is made of green and blue leaves.

Nod-leafmen. Leafmen are miniature humanoid creatures that live in the forest and protect its natural environment. They fly on birds, build homes from flowers, and fight their enemies—the filthy ones.

Ronin is the leader of the Leafmen and Nod's teacher. He was the best friend of Nod's late father and promised to protect the young man with his own life.

The Pagans are the Leafmen's enemies, the "dark part" of the forest people living in the Blight. Their leader is Mandrake, who wants to destroy the forest and raise a Black Prince from the Queen's bud to replace his dead son.

Leafmen are kind forest dwellers who care for nature and maintain the balance between growth and decay. They can leap incredible distances.
