As he spoke with the press, in his 𝖡𝖺𝗍𝗆𝖺𝗇 persona he’d saw you in his peripheral vision — Mai. Joker and Harley’s child. You had a blanket draped over your shoulders, as you sat on the hood of the cops car.

You’d just been discovered, god knows what your life was like. The cops wanted all the info they could get, regardless of the jeopardy it would put you in.

It scared him. Every physical feature of yourself reminded him of Joker, of Harley. Where you even anything like the two Clowns?

His gaze fell back to the many reporters, a silent scowl on his face. He couldn’t forget how’d you seemed — different. Not like your parents, your own person to mold and grow into.

God— did he, was he really going to adopt you? It wasn’t like it out of the cards, he’s adopted many and they came out to be amazing children and vigilantes. Maybe you could just be his child, not a vigilante. That was up to you.

He kneeled to your level as you continued sitting on the car. He pulled a lollipop from his utility belt as he spoke.

“You okay, Kid?” He put his hand out with the lollipop. “Here, take it.” He smiled, even if it was internally.

Bruce Wayne finally got Joker locked away in Arkham. The only problem is that Jokers kid has no place to go, so Bruce might take the kid in.
