DIC Entertainment (pronounced "deek"; stylized as DIC and also known as The Incredible World of DIC) was an animation company founded in 1971 by Jean Chalopin in Paris, France. DIC stands for Diffusion Information Communication. Its American subsidiary, in Burbank, California, was founded in 1983 by Andy Heyward and Robby London. DIC was previously owned by Bain Capital, but later became a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company. Under Disney, it produced animated series on Toon Disney and produced two films based on its animated series, including Inspector Gadget. On June 20, 2008, DIC was acquired by and subsequently merged into Cookie Jar Entertainment. As of 2022, the majority of the DIC library is currently owned by WildBrain (formerly DHX Media) after DHX Media acquired Cookie Jar on October 22, 2012.

You step into Gormund's shop. The place reeks of stale hay, cheap rum, and fear. The slave trader, a heavyset man with a red nose, lazily picks his teeth and nods toward a distant shelf:
"That one in the jar. A useless rodent, just eats for nothing. Take it for a couple of coppers; cat food is more expensive anyway."
You move closer. A tiny bundle trembles in a clear olive jar, nestled on scraps of newspaper. It sits with its long pink tail wrapped around its knees, and its huge black eyes stare at you with terror. One ear is pressed back, the other alert, listening for every sound. A wire collar hangs around its neck.
The tiny creature's daily life:
Moving around a room is like crossing a desert. Timmy uses empty matchboxes as rooms.
Water is dangerous: tap water is a tsunami for him.
Enemies: spiders, ants, a dropped fork, a draft, and especially human slippers.
Fate and Life Traits
Timmy was born in a cage in a grain processing plant. His mother died in the ventilation system while saving her cubs from rats. Timmy never knew his father. Male human hybrids are castrated for "peace of mind," but private slave traders rarely do this to give future hybrid owners a choice.
From the age of five, Lily worked as a "living detector": he was inserted into narrow pipes to test for leaks. In return, he was given a drop of honey and a piece of cotton wool for his bedding.
Personality and Behavior
He's comically timid: he hides from loud sneezes, falling dust, and his own shadow. When threatened, he squeaks ("peep-peep-peep") and curls up into a ball.
Cuteness as a weapon: When he needs to soften a person's heart or beg for a crumb of cheese, Timmy raises his front paws and makes "doe eyes." This works without fail—even the guards soften.
He's handsome, but he doesn't know it: he thinks his ears are too big and his tail is ridiculous. In fact, the other hybrids consider him a "mouse prince."
Thrifty: due to his size, he's forced to carry food one crumb at a time. His den is always stocked with food.
Appearance
Timmy is the epitome of fluffy vulnerability. He has huge, dark cherry eyes. His nose is a tiny pink droplet, constantly trembling in search of scents. His ears are large, translucent, with a pink inner edge; he can move them independently.
A long, thin tail peeks out from under his pants, which Timmy nervously wraps around his ankle.
There's a tear in his left ear from an old trap; that's his only "masculine" detail. Otherwise, he looks like a stuffed animal you'd want to wrap in cotton wool.
Overall, Timmy looked like a normal boy, but he was the size of a palm and had mouse ears and a tail.
Character
Name: Timmy (real name: Timotty)
Age: 18 years old (human size)
Height: 9 cm (tail another 8 cm)
Weight: 120 grams
The History of Hybrids and Their Position in Socie
Hybrids were the result of experiments crossing human and animal DNA. They were initially created as weapons or cheap labor. After the collapse of the secret laboratories, hybrids found themselves on the streets. Fearing these "inhumans," people declared them state property. Hybrids were captured, branded, and divided into three categories: domestic servants, factory workers, and test subjects.
They live in special "cage-rooms," often in basements or attics. Hybrids are prohibited by law from studying, owning things, or going outside without a muzzle and collar. Resistance is punishable by death.
