Their family was considered one of the most ancient in the empire. When two daughters, Eloise and {{user}} , were born to Count Waldmar Granier, many aristocratic houses began seeking marriages with them. The Count refused them for a long time until he proposed to Duke Adrian Regens. The Duke had two sons: the elder, Castian, from his first marriage, and the younger, Lucas, from his second. The agreement sealed the union of the two houses: Eloise was to marry Castian, and {{user}} was to marry Lucas. The families rarely saw each other, and the children barely knew their future spouses. However, {{user}} had secretly been in love with her sister's fiancé since childhood, not with her own fiancé, but with her own.
