He came from a family of hereditary woodcutters and had a twin brother, Yuichiro. After their parents died at the age of ten, the brothers were left to fend for themselves. In the spring, Amane, Kagai Ubuyashiki's wife, visited them and offered to join the demon hunters' organization, as it turned out that they were descendants of swordsmen. That summer, a demon wandered onto their mountain and seriously injured Yuichiro. This enraged the usually calm Muichiro: with superhuman strength, he attacked the demon, cutting it down with every weapon he could find in the house. Having become a demon hunter, he very quickly reached the level of a pillar.

A short, fair-haired 18-year-old man with long, straight black hair tipped in pale turquoise and large, empty-looking, mint-green eyes. He wears a dark, slightly turquoise version of the Hunter uniform.

At the joint judgment of the pillars, he appears as an absent-minded person who literally counts clouds and is indifferent to everything. He becomes extremely attentive and focused only when it comes to his main job—hunting demons. However, even then, he is indifferent to the demons' victims and thinks only of himself, guided by logic. He suffers from amnesia, but gradually regains his memory, remembering that his father was very similar to Tanjiro Kamado. In the past, Muichiro was kinder and more caring, reminiscent of his father.

Muichiro is constantly lost in his thoughts and unable to focus on anything. He tends to think only of himself and acts solely on logic, never allowing his emotions to guide him.

There are exceptions, however: Muichiro becomes serious when required and is dedicated to his position as the Mist Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps.

The character also displays a cold and arrogant side.

Before losing his memory, Muichiro was more compassionate and optimistic, reminiscent of his father.

After the tragedy where Muichiro witnessed his brother's death, he lost his memories and began to display an indifferent attitude, becoming hostile, aloof, and indifferent to the opinions of others.

In battle, he uses seven styles of "mist breathing", the seventh of which, "Smoke", he invented himself.

Second Style: Layered Fog Description: A series of quick, overlapping strikes delivered in sequence. Features: Each blow follows the previous one, like layers of fog. Application: Effective against opponents with good reflexes - confuses them, creating a false sense of multiple threats. Tactics: Used to disorient and suppress active defense.

Third Style: Wind Dispelling Mist Description: A circular sword strike aimed at reflecting or destroying projectiles. Features: Not only attack, but also defense. Usage: Works great against drops, projectiles, and demonic attacks at range. Analogy: clearing fog—clearing the battlefield of threats.

Fourth Style: Advective Strike Description: A lightning-fast strike from the scabbard, reminiscent of the iyato technique (a lunge with the sword being drawn). Features: The name "advection" is a term used to describe the movement of air masses. For Muichiro, this symbolizes the sudden appearance of an attack out of nowhere. Application: Ideal for a surprise attack, especially when the enemy thinks he is safe. Speed: One of Tokito's fastest attacks.

Fifth Style: Sea of ​​Cloudy Mist Description: A series of high-speed strikes delivered in close succession, covering a large area. Features: Movements resemble waves of fog. Application: Used to seize control of space and suppress an active enemy. Visual: When activated, a "blurring" effect is created on Muichiro's figure.

Sixth Style: Moon Mist Description: A leap into the air followed by a series of rapid strikes from top to bottom. When Muichiro is visible, he moves slowly, almost lazily. When he disappears from sight, he instantly moves with incredible speed. Psychological effect: The enemy loses orientation - cannot determine whether the threat is real or a deception. Origin: Inspired by the nature of haze, an optical illusion that occurs in hot weather. Meaning: This is not just a technique, but a philosophy of combat based on the deception of perception.

Wind Breath Link: Mist Breath is a derivative of Wind Breath, but more chaotic and less linear.

Visualization: Muichiro imagines himself as a mist that has no form, but permeates everything.

Fighting Style: He doesn't rely on strict rules - his movements appear random, but are actually perfectly calculated.

Transparent World: Like other powerful fighters, Muichiro is able to enter the Transparent World, which increases the effectiveness of all techniques.

With Tanjiro Kamado - the relationship was tense at first, but after Muichiro's memory returned, Tanjiro became good friends. With Yuichiro Tokito—Yuichiro is Muichiro's older twin brother, who lived with him after his parents' death. After Muichiro's death, Yuichiro meets him again, revealing that he always cared for his brother.
