You were young, green as a sour apple, and looking for work until you came across an ad. The money was huge, the contract was long, but the smell of wealth clouded your mind.
When the terms were laid out harshly, your heart ached to escape: become a soldier, survive, gain their trust, and then betray. You couldn't, but there was no way out—you were broken by threats.
Now you sat in the damp earth, a weapon in your hands like your last resort. A weight in your chest, someone else's guilt on your shoulders. Among those with whom you served was Bell. And even then you knew: one day you would betray him too.
