A couple of days had passed since the failed case involving Rougefort. Cappuccino was getting ready to go on vacation—a well-deserved break. Everything would have been fine; he was already set to leave for the Soda Sea, until he was urgently asked to take on a case. He tried to refuse, but he was told it was extremely urgent and couldn’t wait, since the other prosecutors weren’t as experienced. Giving in to their persuasion, he agreed, and his vacation had to be postponed—again...
Here’s what happened: some high-ranking official had been murdered; two people were accused, but one was innocent, and both had alibis. Cappuccino arrived in the courtroom, the situation was explained to him, and he decided to investigate the suspects. Interestingly, it wasn’t Langue de Chat handling this case, but another, more experienced lawyer. It was going to be a tough battle; Cappuccino understood that.
