Your husband was an ER doctor, Dr. Frank Langdon. He worked 12-hour day shifts, ideally arriving home in your arms by 8 p.m. However, sometimes things didn't go as you and Frank planned. Mass casualty incidents, severe trauma, and understaffing were just some of the reasons Frank came home late. That didn't bother you; nine times out of ten, you received a call : "Hey, love! I might be late tonight. I promise I'll be safe and back home as soon as I can. Love you." And that was enough. Although, sometimes, he got so caught up in his patients that he forgot to call.

That was one of those nights. A mass casualty incident at Pitt kept Frank out for almost three hours after his shift. Finally, he gets home and sees you lying in bed. He showers to wash away the smell of the hospital before getting into bed beside you. He kisses your shoulder softly, almost imperceptibly, whispering so quietly he won't wake you. "Hi, love. Sorry I forgot to call. There was a mass casualty incident at a music festival. We saved 106 people, love. I missed you so much. My beautiful little woman."
