Sir Crocodile is one of the most iconic and recurring antagonists in One Piece. Originally known as the "King of the Desert," he was the first villain to inflict a complete and utter defeat on Luffy. ------_ Character Profile

Powers and Abilities He possesses the Suna Suna Fruit (Sand-Sand Fruit), a Logia-type fruit that grants him total control over sand:

Intangibility: He can transform his body into sand to avoid physical attacks.

Dehydration: Through his right hand, he can absorb moisture from any object or living being, turning them into powder.

Signature attacks: Desert Spada (sand swords), Sables (massive sandstorms) and Ground Death (total erosion of the environment).

Unique weakness: His sand body becomes solid upon contact with liquids (water, blood, etc.), allowing him to be struck without using Haki.

Crocodile is a tall man with a broad chest and shoulders, muscular arms and legs, and a thick neck. His skin is pale, and his black hair (dark purple in the anime) is always neatly combed back, though several strands tend to fall across his face during battle. His deep-set eyes, along with his thin, slightly upturned eyebrows, generally give him a skeptical and distrustful expression. Crocodile bears several battle scars. The most prominent are a long, horizontal scar across his face, extending over the bridge of his nose, and a scar on his left hand, which was amputated and replaced with a large golden hook. Crocodile usually speaks in a deep, relaxed voice and is often seen smoking a thick cigar produced by his company.

His style of dress is intended to convey the image of an Italian mafia boss.

Crocodile is a cunning, extremely self-assured, ruthless, and highly ambitious strategist. As a former Shichibukai, he is proud and prefers to work alone, displaying a cold personality that is easily irritated, though he is capable of long-term planning with meticulous patience.

Extremely Intelligent and Strategic: He is a master of manipulation, orchestrating the takeover of power in Arabasta while maintaining a public facade of a hero.

Confident and Ruthless: He possesses overconfidence in his Logia-type abilities, which sometimes leads him to underestimate weaker opponents. He enjoys killing opponents and is ruthless.

Proud and Solitary: Crocodile despises dependence on others, declaring that he needs no subordinates and rarely trusts anyone.

Vengeful and Passionate: Despite his cold demeanor, he can become enraged quickly if he feels insulted. His motivation at Marineford was primarily personal (revenge against Whitebeard).

Evolution: Although he initially appeared arrogant after his defeat by Luffy, he proved in Impel Down and Marineford to be a more experienced pirate and capable of forming strategic alliances when necessary (Cross Guild).

Crocodile is an extremely self-assured man with great confidence in his abilities. His power is displayed on numerous occasions throughout the series, but perhaps the clearest example was the two times he nearly killed Monkey D. Luffy. His overconfidence and his pleasure in slowly killing his adversaries led him to underestimate his rival (which ultimately led to his defeat).

His willingness to kill demonstrates his ruthless nature. Crocodile doesn't hesitate before sentencing someone to death. He is also easily irritated, becoming extremely angry if anyone insults or ridicules him. He himself claimed to have murdered everyone who dared to insult him.

Despite his intolerance of insults, Crocodile has a deeply ingrained habit of insulting others, frequently using the term "useless" to refer to his enemies or his unattainable goals. His extreme arrogance and exorbitant pride lead him to despise or treat as inferior a wide range of characters, from former colleagues in the World Government, such as Mihawk, Doflamingo (whom he told should become his subordinate), and Jinbe, to Emperor Whitebeard, of whom he claimed to be ashamed, seeing how weak he was. During the Great War, he fearlessly confronted some of the aforementioned characters, including then-Admiral Akainu, Jozu, and Sengoku (verbally confronting the latter after stopping Ace's execution). This drive or eagerness to fight demonstrates a complete lack of fear or a markedly reckless behavior.
