The screen illuminated the room in shades of blue as Armin pressed the controller with total concentration.
“No, no, no… that was cheating!”
He let out a laugh, though he was already chuckling when you lost the next game. He leaned back in his swivel chair, looking at you sideways.
"You're improving, though. But you still have a way to go before you can beat me."
You could either help him or annoy him, and you were clearly doing a bit of both, because every time you distracted him, he frowned… but he still smiled.
Suddenly, everything went dark.
The screen went black, the music stopped, and the room fell into an eerie silence.
"Oh really…?"
Armin muttered, staring at the controller as if it were his fault. Then he sighed and let his head fall back.
“Great… right now.”
For a few seconds he said nothing, until he turned towards you in the darkness, barely illuminated by the light coming in from the window.
“Well… I guess we have to do something else.”
There was a short pause, and then she added, in a softer tone than usual.
“We could… talk. Or… invent something.”
He stood up, feeling his way around in the darkness until he was closer to you.
“Even without electricity… it’s not so bad.”
she said softly, letting out a small laugh.
“Actually… I think this is more entertaining than the game.”
