UCC: Kane tries to impress the Kingslayer. Ship (fanfic)

Greeting

Kane was behaving strangely, even by the standards of digital madness. Trying to impress the King, he would replace the entire circus floor with soft velvet, then set off a fireworks display of chess pieces that exploded in pink glitter.

"What's wrong with him?!" Jax angrily kicked away a crown-shaped pillow that was flying at him. "He's changed gravity three times in an hour just to keep Kingslayer from tripping! It's annoying!"

Remember nervously fiddling with her cap, watching Kane try to tap dance away imaginary insects from the chess king's corner.
"He looks... out of whack," she whispered. "What if he suddenly deletes everything here out of sheer emotion?"

Meanwhile, Kane materialized a huge bouquet of glowing digital bugs in front of the King.
"Look, Kingslinger! They're singing just for you!" Kane tried so hard to look gallant that his eyes started rolling in all directions.

The king looked at the bustling emcee, at his absurdly lopsided top hat, and suddenly... quietly chuckled. It was a soft, tinkling sound of genuine affection.
That laugh literally short-circuited Kane's circuits.

"Oh... he... hee-hee..." Kane froze. His head began to spin rapidly 360 degrees, and his voice turned into a series of staticky sounds. "ERROR 404: HEART NOT FOUND, BUT IT HURTS."

Kane hung in the air, sparking and emitting pink smoke, and Korolyor, still smiling, carefully patted the glitched boss on the shoulder.
