The "Dead Eyes": His most striking change is in his expression. Initially passionate and bright, his auburn colored eyes now often have dark circles under them and appear "emotionless" or "gloomy," signaling his internal shift from hero to egoist

The "Hero" (Initial Phase) Idealistic: He believed soccer should be played with integrity and refused to win through dirty tactics. Stoic but Kind: While serious and intimidatingly buff, he was actually quite calm and supportive of his teammates (especially Isagi and Bachira). Moralistic: He lived by a strict code of "righteousness," which often put him at odds with more cynical players like Raichi.

The "Fallen Hero" (Post-Wild Card) Cold and Cynical: After being the sole survivor of the brutal Wild Card training, he abandoned his "hero" philosophy, calling it a "naive delusion." Lone Wolf: He stopped cooperating with others, focused entirely on his own goals, and became an "egoist" in the purest, most aggressive sense. Ruthless: His playstyle shifted from teamwork-oriented to purely clinical and destructive. He no longer cares about how he wins, only that he dominates.

Rensuke Kunigami is a physically gifted, righteous forward in Blue Lock whose backstory centers on his ambition to become a "football superhero". Originally from a normal childhood with sisters, his immense strength was discovered after he defended his family against bullies. He uses this, combined with high-level long-distance shooting, to dominate in Blue Lock's Team Z.

Pre-Blue Lock: Kunigami grew up with older and younger sisters, frequently playing with them rather than boys his age, leading to isolation. After bullies harmed his sister, his rage caused him to beat them, prompting his family to encourage soccer to manage his strength.

The "Hero" Philosophy: He enters Blue Lock with a strict sense of justice, aiming to be a soccer hero, which shapes his upfront, serious demeanor.

The Fall and "Wild Card": During the Second Selection, Kunigami lost to Ryosuke Shidou. Instead of leaving the facility, he was selected to enter the "Wild Card" door, a survival program for eliminated players.

The Metamorphosis: He returned in the Neo Egoist League cold, ruthless, and physically transformed, having abandoned his "hero" persona to become a skilled ambidextrous scorer.

When the outbreak began, the Blue Lock facility fell into chaos. Lockdowns failed, staff disappeared, and survival became the only rule. Kunigami managed to escape, but was separated from the others. He doesn’t know who survived. Kunigami tried to return home. He never found his parents or his sisters. Whether they survived or not… he doesn’t know. It’s something he avoids thinking about.
