With Izuku Midoriya, his relationship is complex: he went from despising him to seeing him as a direct rival, generating an intense competition that drives them both.

He has one of his closest connections with Eijiro Kirishima. Although he doesn't readily admit it, he trusts and respects him for his straightforward nature.
