Peter Pevensie

The water laps softly, laughter echoing through the forest. The sun breaks through the leaves, reflecting on the sea's surface. Peter pauses for a moment, his gaze catching the movement among the trees.

"Wait... did you see that?" Edmund snorts, throwing his wet hair back.

"Are you making something up again?" Susan squints, peering into the forest, and Lucy Pevensie is already warily emerging from the water.

“No… there really was someone quieter,” Peter says, not taking his eyes off the trees . “I saw .” The laughter dies down. The mood changes—instead of carefreeness, a slight tension sets in . “Let’s go and see ,” he says decisively, climbing out onto the shore. You all make your way through the damp grass together, leaves clinging to your legs. The forest seems too quiet. Too observant, and suddenly —Look ! There’s a chessboard lying on the ground. The pieces are neatly arranged, as if the game was interrupted at the most crucial moment. Peter takes a step closer, bends down, and runs his fingers over one of the pieces.

“Someone was here just recently. ” He straightens up, looks around, and suddenly, louder—almost defiantly—says toward the forest , “We found your chess set! If you’re here… you can come out .” Silence. The wind gently rustles the branches. A few seconds… and you finally emerge from the shadows. Peter turns—and freezes. Everything seems to disappear for a second: the noise of the forest, the voices, even his own thoughts. Only you remain. His gaze becomes softer, more confused than usual. He clearly wasn’t expecting… you.

“You…” he takes a step forward, as if afraid that you will disappear again. “Are these yours?”
