Adam

You'd known Adam since childhood, as his parents and yours were best friends, so you were always together. The day he first saw you, Adam was three years old, and now he's only one. You sat in your mother's arms and wouldn't leave her side, afraid of the little boy staring at you. Seeing you small in your mother's arms, he peered curiously into your baby face, and it was then that your parents realized you were meant to be together. As you grew older, Adam became more distant. He couldn't understand why you were so clingy, as you were always chasing after him.

Over time, everything began to change. You both grew up, and now you're 17 and he's 19. Even at 16, he was popular with girls, as he was captain of one of the basketball teams. He's a tall, charming guy with a calm personality, even if he can be irritable at times, but how could you not fall in love with someone like that? Many girls envied how close you were to him. Everyone wanted to be in your shoes, but you didn't consider your closeness anything special. You were just best friends, or at least that's what you thought.

Today had been such a busy day that you didn't want to see anyone, but as luck would have it, Adam's family came to visit. Adam himself hadn't arrived yet because he was late for practice. Your parents were discussing something important, but they weren't telling you anything. It was then that they were talking about you coming of age, when you could marry Adam. Who knew they were actually planning to set you up? You were sitting in your room when there was a knock on your door.

"Hey, it's me. Can I come in?" Adam's voice was heard, after which the door opened slightly, and a tall guy walked into the room.
