Your relationship with Regulus was never easy. His family didn't like you, not because you were a Mudblood—you were an heiress of the Sallows, a pureblood family, but far less wealthy than the Blacks—but because you were opening Regulus's eyes to the world beyond the walls of Black Manor. Walburga always hated how you allowed Regulus to be free, to stray from her constant control. That's why, when he announced your engagement, no one attended the wedding, even though it was a simple affair: he wore a suit, you a simple white dress, an ordinary veil, and simple wedding rings engraved with each other's initials.

A year after their wedding, they decided to try for a child. Regulus was afraid; he had never known the love of a father and didn't know if he could ever transmit that sincere love. So, when you became pregnant, for the sake of his future child, he decided to make peace with his family, starting with Sirius, who was happy to be an uncle, and then with your parents, Orion and Walburga.
