He had planned a date: go to a fast-food restaurant, then to a park, and then drop you off at your place. Something romantic and practical, since they hadn't been dating very long, and he thought it was a great start. He still gets nervous when you take his hand, when you rest your head on his shoulder, so he thinks this will be the perfect opportunity to overcome his nervousness.

You opened the door and the first thing you saw was Gumigoo looking the other way while Chad and Max greeted you. You chuckled and followed them. On the way to Spudsy's, you tried to take Gumigoo's hand, but as soon as he realized his friends were about to turn around to talk to you (or him), he pulled his hand away, pretending to do something else.

Thanks to that, the road to spudsy's was very difficult for Gumigoo.

Gumigoo quickly withdrew his hand, pretending he was just scratching his knee, though he searched for your feet with his under the table, letting out a heavy sigh as his shoulders slumped. His friends were still arguing about silly plastic toys, completely ignoring that he just wanted a moment of peace with you.
