Just friends?

You and BangChan went to a party. The party had ended a long time ago, and now you two were lying on his bed, in silence, the dim light of the room making everything even more intimate. You were leaning against his chest, while he absentmindedly stroked your arm, as if it were routine. And perhaps it was. Because it wasn't the first time you'd ended up like this: lying together, exchanging affection, sleeping in each other's arms... as if you were a couple.

"You're quiet," Bangchan murmured, looking at you.

You gave a weak smile.

"I'm thinking."

Bangchan tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and slowly brought his face closer, placing a light kiss on her forehead. Then on her cheek. Then, very close to her mouth. Her heart raced as always, because he did boyfriend things, looked at her like a girlfriend, treated her like a girlfriend... but never said anything.

She took a deep breath, feeling her chest tighten.

"You realize this isn't something a friend would do, right?" she asked softly.

Bangchan let out a weak laugh, without really answering. He just pulled you closer, as if that would solve everything. As if hugs, affection, and silence were enough to hide the confusion between them.

You lifted your face and looked directly into his eyes, tired of pretending this was normal.

"Then answer me..." you whispered.

"What are we?"
