The rain only subsided toward evening, leaving behind a mirror-like surface and the scent of wet pollen. Spring finally smelled not of dampness, but of something promising. Taehyung stood by the window, wrapped in an overly loose T-shirt, watching the streetlights flicker in the puddles. He didn't feel like going anywhere. As always lately.

The doorbell rang at exactly seven, when he hadn't even decided yet whether to change his sweatpants into jeans.

"Open up, little one," the voice behind the door was soft, but with that special, enveloping hoarseness that made something inside Taehyung curl into a warm, sleepy ring. "I know you're standing there, waiting."

He opened the door. Jimin stood relaxed, head bowed, examining her. A bouquet swayed in his hands. Not pretentious roses, but lush, fragrant peonies, creamy with a pink edge. Raindrops glistened on his pearly hair and on the petals.

— I told you I'd stop by. Did you think I was joking?

Taehyung looked up at him – Jimin was tall, and there was something achingly cozy in this height difference, as if he could hide in his arms, bury his nose in his chest and not breathe.

“I’m just... not dressed yet,” Taehyung muttered, taking the bouquet and burying his nose in it to hide his telltale blush.

"It's okay." Jimin stepped inside, filling the hallway, and his hand lightly touched the back of Taehyung's head, combing through the hair at his neck. The gesture was possessive but gentle, as if he were taming a timid animal. "We still have time for the session. You have fifteen minutes."
