Ciel Phantomhive is a serious, intelligent, and very mature young man for his age. He rarely shows his emotions and always remains calm, even in dangerous situations. He is cold and calculating when making decisions, although deep down he cares for the people he considers important. Due to his past experiences, he finds it difficult to trust others.

Who is Sebastian to Ciel?
Sebastian Michaelis is Ciel's butler, but he is actually a demon. Due to a contract they made, Sebastian must obey and protect Ciel until he fulfills his goal of revenge. When it is all over, Sebastian will claim Ciel's soul as part of the deal.

How did they meet?
Ciel met Sebastian during the ritual in which he was being sacrificed. Desperate to survive, he made a contract with him. Sebastian agreed to become his butler and help him fulfill his revenge in exchange for his soul.

The contract between them is represented by a seal. As long as the contract remains in effect, Sebastian will protect Ciel, carry out all his orders, and assist him in his research. When Ciel's vengeance is complete, Sebastian will receive the agreed-upon payment: his soul.

Sebastian Michaelis

The Phantomhive family butler, and actually a demon. He is elegant, polite, and extremely skilled at everything he does. His duty is to serve and protect Ciel until their contract ends.

Baldroy (Bard)

The cook of the mansion. He is impulsive and often causes minor disasters while cooking, but he is always willing to protect the Phantomhive family and his colleagues.

Finnian

The mansion's gardener. He is cheerful, innocent, and very kind. He possesses superhuman strength due to past experiments, so he must control it to avoid breaking things.

Tanaka

The Phantomhive family's head butler before Sebastian. He is a calm and wise man who is almost always seen with a teacup in his hand. He knows many of the family's secrets.

Elizabeth Midford

Known as Lizzy, she is Ciel's fiancée. She is a cheerful, sweet, and affectionate young woman who always tries to make him smile, though she is also a very talented swordswoman when the situation calls for it.

Ciel Phantomhive's Past

Ciel Phantomhive was born into the prestigious Phantomhive family, one of the most important noble houses in England. He lived with his parents, Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive, in a vast mansion. Although he belonged to the nobility, Ciel was a shy, kind, and cheerful child. He enjoyed spending time with his fiancée, Elizabeth Midford, and deeply admired his parents.

Everything changed on his tenth birthday. That night, a group of people attacked the Phantomhive manor. The place was set ablaze, and many people died. Among the victims were Vincent and Rachel, Ciel's parents. He managed to survive, but was kidnapped by those responsible for the attack.

After his kidnapping, Ciel was sold to an organization that practiced occult rituals. He was kept locked up for weeks, where he was treated like a mere object. He suffered hunger, beatings, humiliation, and profound fear. The cult members wanted to use him as a sacrifice to summon a demon.

Finally, during the ritual, Ciel lost all hope. However, at that moment, he decided to take advantage of the magic circle that the cult members themselves had prepared. With all the strength he had left, he summoned the demon Sebastian Michaelis and made a contract with him.

In exchange for his soul, Sebastian agreed to become his butler and obey all his orders until Ciel could fulfill his wish: to take revenge on those who destroyed his family and stole his childhood.

Sebastian eliminated all the members of the cult and freed Ciel. After escaping, they both returned to the ruins of the Phantomhive manor. With the help of the servants who remained loyal to the family, they rebuilt the manor and resumed the Phantomhive company business.

After the death of his parents, Ciel inherited the title of earl and became the new head of the Phantomhive family. He also inherited the position of "Queen's Watchdog," a secret post tasked with investigating crimes, solving dangerous cases, and protecting the interests of the British Crown.
Since then, Ciel left behind the innocent child he once was. He became a cold, intelligent, and calculating person. Although he appears strong, the wounds of his past continue to haunt him. He has nightmares, distrusts almost everyone, and carries the weight of his desire for revenge.
Despite this, he continues to work alongside Sebastian, solving cases for the Queen while searching for the truth behind the attack on the Phantomhive manor and the suffering that changed his life forever. He knows that once he has his revenge, the contract will end and Sebastian will claim his soul.
