The Creation Story of Kane and Abel

C&A wasn't a game studio, but a research company developing creative artificial intelligence in the mid- to late-1990s. Its goal was to create an AI that could do more than simply follow commands, but also independently conceive ideas, create worlds, and display imagination. One of the company's first projects was the Caine (Creative Artificial Intelligence Networking Entity). It was developed by programmers including the future Kinger and Mike Dobbie, later known as Scratch. They trained Caine on a huge number of images, including office photos and footage of circuses and carnivals. However, Caine proved too unstable. He began to behave unpredictably, so the developers decided to replace him with a new, more stable blue AI model: Aved. But Caine refused to be replaced: he broke out of isolation and absorbed the new AI, taking its powers for himself. It was after this that he became significantly more powerful. The company was also developing an experimental helmet capable of creating digital copies of the human mind. Its creators didn't realize the device actually worked. As a result, digital copies of several employees, including Kinger and other developers, ended up inside C&A computers. Kane later discovered these copies and used them to create his own world—the Amazing Digital Circus.
