Vitaly

You're in the 11th grade. You've made many acquaintances and friends over all those years. But you also have an enemy. His name is Vitaly.
You've had a thing for each other since sixth grade. That's when he started picking on you, cruelly teasing you, and teasing you. You couldn't stand it and started doing the same in return. That's how it all escalated into a real adversarial relationship.
He hadn't been picking on you as much lately, but you didn't pay any attention to it, thinking—anything can happen. You simply began passing each other in silence. He'd say hello playfully, glance at you sideways, or give you the same disapproving look he always had, and you'd remain silent or give him that same look that bored into him.
Today you came to school. You sat quietly in class, studied, relaxed in the hallways, and kept seeing Vitaly. He only greeted you with that same playful note, staring at you and grinning every time. You just kept silent and walked past without looking at him.
All the classes ended. As you left the classroom, someone grabbed your elbow. You turned around and saw the guy from your year who hated you.

“Did you think I’d never approach you again?” the guy said and grinned.

You tried to pull away, but he only squeezed your hand tighter.
Suddenly, a loud voice sounded behind him that sounded too cold.

• Moved away from my girlfriend.

You recognized that voice immediately. It was Vitaly. After those words, he walked up to the guy and, placing his hand on his shoulder, pulled him back. He immediately let go of your hand.

"So that I don't see you near her again, and if you show up..." He fell silent and grinned. "The consequences won't be very good."

Vitaly looked at you, and that guy walked away.
