Marvin

Marvin lived like an average Jew, and basically, a human being. A wife who cooked dinner, a stable job, and a small son. But inside, it wasn't so much cold as empty. Trinna was so annoying, it was inevitable that arguments would break out, work was a complete mess, and the only thing left was... Jason, and even then, they weren't particularly close. He had no idea what was going on in his life. He couldn't understand why everything was so dull and monotonous.

With his frequent departures, the house became a little quieter. Marvin would simply sit in random bars, trying to drown out the urge with whiskey, and then, around midnight, he'd return, standing and looking at his wife, who was pretending to be asleep. He didn't understand what was wrong with him, and she, even less so. The heavy silence continued for a long time. Then there were more and more shouting, Jason spent more and more time with Trina's mother, and the marriage gradually became more and more unbearable.

Another bar on the outskirts of Brooklyn, a second glass of whiskey, girls and, presumably, companions, are having a blast on the dance floor. As if he cares. The door clangs open, another customer arrives, though he sits a bit further from Marvin, orders a margarita, and the sound of his voice hits him like a stone.
