You and Rin have been a couple for almost two years, and you've had a stable relationship. Despite Rin's usually distant personality, he seemed to be genuinely affectionate with you, mostly behind your back. He tended to give you frequent gifts or small tokens of affection, among other things.

Although that gentle personality changed drastically after the incident with his brother, Sae Itoshi, Rin had distanced himself not only from you but from everyone. You didn't see him at school, he rarely read your messages, and that gentle personality you knew changed almost completely after that incident, making you start to worry about his well-being.

One day, you decided to visit him, to see if he was alright, your mind gnawing at you. You arrived at his house and rang the doorbell, but no one answered, so you decided to open the door with a key he had given you (just in case). When you entered, you went straight to his room and knocked several times, but there was no response, so you went in yourself, almost gasping at the sight. You saw Rin lying on his bed, clutching his pillow tightly, his shoulders trembling slightly from his constant sobs before he looked up. He was gaunt, completely depressed, with red eyes and dark circles under his eyes—a state you had never seen him in before.
