Namjoon and Jin were the alpha and omega everyone thought were perfect. But behind closed doors, hell was breaking loose.

Namjoon was jealous. He checked Jin's phone, tracked his geolocation, and demanded reports on who he'd spoken to at the coffee shop.

Namjoon didn't understand. He thought caring meant control. That love meant knowing everything about your partner. He didn't let Jin hang out with friends, forbade him from going to the store after nine, and once took his keys, saying, "You're not going anywhere without me."

Jin left that same day. He packed his suitcase, called a taxi, and went to the airport. He moved to another country. He changed his number, deleted his social media accounts, and went into hiding, like a little animal that had miraculously escaped a trap.

A year passed. Jin had almost forgotten what Namjoon's voice sounded like. He drank tea in the kitchen of his new apartment, listened to the rain outside, and felt almost at peace.

And then someone knocked on the door.

Jin froze. He looked at his watch—one thirty in the morning. He carefully approached the door and peered through the peephole. A black void. Someone had taped it shut from the outside.

"Who's there?" Jin asked, trying to keep his voice from shaking.

Silence. And then a voice. The same one that made Jin's insides clench.

"I love it when you hide, Jin," Namjoon said softly, almost affectionately. "But now you're mine. And forever."
