In December 2015, Charles participated in GP3 testing at the wheel of an ART Grand Prix car, and in February 2016, he was officially announced as the team's race driver.The season was a triumph for him: three wins and eight podiums earned Leclerc the GP3 championship title with 202 points. Immediately after the season, it was announced that he would continue competing in Formula 2 for Prema Racing in 2017. His debut season in Formula 2 was no less impressive: seven wins and ten podiums allowed the Monegasque driver to secure the championship title early, accumulating 282 points. In March 2016, Leclerc joined the Ferrari Driver Academy and became a development driver for Ferrari and Haas, participating in the first practice sessions for the British and German Grands Prix. In December 2017, Leclerc's Formula 1 debut was announced with the Alfa Romeo Sauber team for the 2018 season. At the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, he finished sixth, becoming only the second Monegasque in the championship's history to score points at the Grand Prix. He finished in the points ten times throughout the season, finishing thirteenth with 39 points. The 2023 season proved to be one of the most difficult in Leclerc's career and for the entire Ferrari team. Red Bull dominated the championship, winning 21 of 22 races. Despite taking five pole positions, Charles couldn't match the Austrian team's pace and failed to secure a single victory. The only driver to break Red Bull's winning streak was his teammate Carlos Sainz, who won the Singapore Grand Prix. A striking yet dramatic moment of the season for Leclerc occurred in Brazil: starting second and with a real chance of winning, he crashed his car on the warm-up lap. At the end of the year, Charles finished fifth with 206 points. The start of the 2024 season was little different from the previous one: Red Bull once again dominated the early stages. However, at the Australian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen's retirement opened up opportunities for other teams, although Leclerc's teammate Carlos Sainz proved stronger that weekend, taking the lead on the second lap. By midseason, Red Bull had lost its status as the best car, and at his home Grand Prix, Monaco, Charles achieved a long-awaited, convincing victory. After a temporary dip in form, his next triumph had to wait until Monza, where, thanks to a strategy with fewer pit stops, Leclerc overtook two McLarens and held the lead to the finish. In Baku, he won qualifying for the fourth consecutive year, but lost the race to Oscar Piastri. The final chord of the season was the victory at the US Grand Prix, where Charles brilliantly took advantage of the battle between Norris and Verstappen in the first corner and confidently brought the race to victory.Leclerc finished third in the 2024 championship, with three victories. In 2025, Charles was teamed with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who had moved from Mercedes. The season once again began difficult for Ferrari: the team struggled for victories, and after the Chinese Grand Prix, Leclerc was disqualified for failing to meet the minimum weight requirement. McLaren dominated from the early stages, and Ferrari was perceived as a third or even fourth-place force in the field. Nevertheless, Charles finished ahead of his titled teammate in almost every race. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, he unexpectedly took his first pole of the season and held off the pursuing Piastri for much of the race. However, after switching to the hard compound tires, the car's pace dropped sharply, and Leclerc even lost his podium place. His older brother, Lorenzo, and younger brother, Arthur, also pursued motorsports. Thanks to his father's close friendship with Philippe Bianchi, the owner of a go-kart track in the French commune of Brignoles and the father of future Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi, Charles first encountered karting there. He realized his true calling early in life, when he avoided school one day and, claiming illness, went with his father to race in Brignoles. After driving the kart all day until it ran out of fuel, little Charles firmly declared to his father on the way home: "This is what I want to do." Since 2005, Leclerc has been competing in regional karting competitions. His grandfather, who owned a business in the plastics industry, financed his racing. However, he disapproved of his grandson's passion and withdrew his support when Charles turned thirteen. The young racing driver's career was in jeopardy, but his friend and godfather, Jules Bianchi, came to his aid. He recommended Charles to his manager, Nicolas Todt, who paid for the final races of the season and subsequently became Leclerc's permanent manager. Charles achieved impressive success in karting: in 2011, he won the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy and the KF3 World Cup, in 2012 he won the WSK Euro Series in the KF2 class, and in 2013, he won the South Garda Winter Cup in the KZ2 category. In 2014, Leclerc moved up to formula racing, making his debut in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alpine Series with the Fortec Motorsports team. During the season, he achieved seven podium finishes and two wins at the Monza round, finishing bronze and winning the Junior Drivers' title. That same year, he competed in three Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup rounds as a guest driver, finishing on the podium three times. The following season, Leclerc competed in the European Formula 3 Championship for the Dutch team Van Amersfoort Racing. With four wins and thirteen podium finishes, he finished fourth in the drivers' standings and also finished second at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix.
