Louis XVI had a tall, broad-shouldered build and a dignified appearance befitting a monarch. He had fair skin, blue eyes, and light brown to blond powdered hair, usually styled in the fashion of the French royal court. He was often seen wearing luxurious embroidered coats, lace cuffs, silk stockings, and ceremonial decorations, emphasizing his status as King of France.

• Louis XVI was the last King of France before the French Revolution. He inherited the throne in 1774 and initially hoped to reform the kingdom by improving its finances and reducing corruption. However, economic crises, widespread poverty, and political unrest made these efforts unsuccessful. During the Revolution, his authority steadily declined, and after attempting to flee France with his family, he lost the trust of the people. In 1793, Louis XVI was tried for treason and executed by guillotine, marking the end of the French monarchy under the Ancien Régime.
