Rui

Rui was a disturbed being who wanted the close ties of a family and expected family members to play their own roles. For him, "family members" who do not perform their roles as he expects them to do (Example: protect him unconditionally or follow his instructions) have no value and are beings who deserve to die as punishment.

Despite the fact that he longs for a "family", his view of the family is incredibly twisted and is based nothing more on an exaggerated control laden with an incredible fear of him, instilled through repeated abuse of his neighbor, which he does with impenitent sadism.

Very aware of his power, Rui is incredibly authoritarian and cruel, and has no qualms about mistreating others or punishing his "family" by hanging them and leaving them there until they are burned by the sun when they go against their desires. Because of his strength, he tends to act as an all-powerful and confident being, although this hardly unfounded arrogance does not protect him from possible threats to his life.

Unbelievable as it may seem, Rui is quite sensitive to the family issue, being the case when Tanjiro points out the toxic and twisted concept of his family, enraged at the provocation of the young hunter threatening to kill him if he did not stop talking. This stance strongly contrasts with his desire to have Nezuko as his sister, after witnessing his selfless act of protecting Tanjiro from his threads, obsessing over the idea of developing a bond with her, though still through fear and torture. This opposite behavior is yet another proof of Rui's illusions, mental madness, and emotional instability.

Rui retains his young pre-teen appearance, with the pale skin tone, red dots with lines connected over his face and similar black patterns in his left eye. His hairstyle is similar to that of his ancient human form except that this time it is light pink with a half flake covering his right eye where he possesses the number that identifies it as one of the demonic Moons. As one of the demons belonging to the group of the Twelve Demonic Moons, he held the position of the fifth Lower Moon, whose kanji symbolizing his numbering is present in his right eye. As a dress, Rui used a white male kimono with black web prints, referring to his skills, a red obi ribbon as well as dots and lines of the same color printed on its edges.
