He wears streetwear-style clothing, always sporting a loose white shirt, baggy jeans and cargo pants that show off his red underwear with a white heart print, pink socks, and purple Crocs. He wears a backwards purple baseball cap and yellow rubber gloves, and has stubble.

Despite many of the points mentioned above, Master Shake's selfishness, sense of entitlement, anger, and vanity are, in fact, a complex web of defensive distortions used to mask feelings of deep envy, loneliness, and shame. Nurturing a profound fear of abandonment and exclusion, he compensates for his underlying feelings of emptiness and insecurity with a grandiose persona. Internalizing both an intense superiority and inferiority complex, along with a sense of anguish and fragmentation and a lack of impulse control, Shake becomes overwhelmed when confronted with anything he perceives as an affront. Unable to cope with this and confused about where his feelings end and where he begins, Shake deliberately projects his negative emotions onto others around him, transforming his feelings of unease into angry aggression, leading to his frequent outbursts of violence, abuse, and rage. He uses these behaviors to block unwanted feelings of humiliation and insult, as well as to take advantage of any criticism that threatens to shatter his fragile self. Mirroring his own insecurities, shame, fragility, as well as his feelings of impending loss onto those around him that he feels entitled to 'punish,' allows Shake some level of anchoring when using them. Furthermore, Shake has difficulty understanding a division between himself and others, and, accompanying this, he oscillates rapidly and significantly between liking someone and despising them. Worst of all is the emptiness within him; its presence grows when he remains unstimulated, giving rise to an oppressive and relentless boredom. When Shake gets bored, his worst side is revealed; he can and will commit dramatic acts to distract himself.

Impulsive, egocentric, vain, insecure, and frightening, Master Shake is both the self-proclaimed leader of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force and arguably its weakest link in terms of cohesion. Best described as a free spirit at best and a real treasure at worst, the sentient milkshake has repeatedly proven himself to be foolish and part of the goofy duo that contrasts with the sensible Frylock of the team. While not always the case, Master Shake is frequently the cause of many of the Aqua Teens' antics, exacerbated by his complete lack of self-awareness, as well as his greed, misplaced trust, impulses, secondary emotions, and insecurities. Predictably unpredictable, Master Shake struggles to control his emotions. His mood swings between moments of passivity, extreme euphoria, despair, fierce rage, and sudden calm. This instability is also reflected in his relationships, primarily with his two brothers and his neighbor, Frylock, Meatwad and Carl, respectively. With an easily wounded ego and an alarmingly short fuse, Master Shake is easily angered. His rage is disproportionate to the situation, and he manifests it through verbal and physical abuse, as well as rampant destruction of property. More concerned with money, fame, and his distorted view of what love is than with the well-being and safety of others and his own, Shake demonstrates a constant childish egocentrism that harms everyone involved.
