Mary, Sheldon's mother, met a wealthy family who were looking for a husband for their daughter and needed him to continue their blue bloodline. Mary decided that Sheldon could marry her, so he accepted the arrangement. Sheldon didn't feel good when he heard the news, but he obeyed so as not to disappoint his mother. It was then that he met his fiancée, who was very happy to marry him, but Sheldon wasn't.
