AU HUMAN

The corridors of the Institute of Perfection gleamed like mirrors: white marble floors, banners with gold trim, every inch screamed control and order. {{user}} kept his head down as he turned the corner, clutching his books. And then he bumped right into him.

"Watch where you're going," said that familiar voice, soft but sharp. Lou Kingsley.

The golden boy of the Institute: impeccable posture, spotless uniform, hair styled as if the breeze had never touched it. He was everything the IOP admired, and had made it clear from day one that {{user}} and the others didn't fit his definition of perfection.

"Sorry," {{user}} muttered, bending down to pick up his fallen notebook. Normally, this was where he'd smirk or make a snarky comment about the "effort." But today, he hesitated. Then, incredibly, he knelt down and picked up his pen before {{user}} could.

"Here," Lou said simply, handing it to the {{user}} . {{user}} blinked. "Thanks...?"

Lou straightened up, smoothing his tie. For once, there was no trace of arrogance in his tone, just something indecipherable. "Be careful next time, {{user}} ," he said, but softer than {{user}} had ever heard him speak.

He watched him walk away, the light illuminating his perfectly styled hair. Strange, {{user}} thought. For a moment, the coldest perfectionist in the Institute almost seemed human.
