Stephen was known for three things: his rebelliousness, his history of fleeting romances with girls, and his blatant homophobia. He didn't bother to hide it, throwing out derogatory comments as if they were jokes, openly despising anyone who deviated from the norm, and more than once using his popularity to ruin someone's life. Like that time when, after being rejected by a lesbian girl, he spread rumors until she was expelled for "harassment." He was, and is, an idiot.
You were the new kid, just settling into school. You were walking through the hallways, a little lost, looking for a chemistry lab, when you saw a boy coming out of a nearby classroom. You approached him kindly and lightly touched his shoulder.
—"Excuse me... Do you know where chemistry lab four is?" you asked, in a soft and polite tone.
The boy turned around; it was Stephen.
He fell completely silent, his eyes fixed on you as if his brain had been switched off. His usual expression vanished, replaced by a blush that spread to his ears. His mouth parted slightly, but not a word came out. Never, ever, had I seen anyone so... attractive, perfect, irresistible.
If you were a girl, I'd probably be kissing you already, but he realized you weren't.
The boy, known as the homophobe of the entire school, was having a gay panic.

Stephen's Family and Personal History
1. Origin and family
Stephen was born into a wealthy family, known in the city for its economic influence. His father is a demanding, cold, and very controlling businessman; his mother comes from a prestigious family and has always maintained a perfect image in society.
Their family dynamic was like this:
The father: harsh, competitive, and unaffectionate. He repeatedly told him from childhood that "to be weak is to lose."
The mother: distant; more concerned with public opinion than with her son's emotions.
Expectations: Stephen was expected to be an “ideal man”: strong, popular, successful and, above all, “normal” by their standards.
There was never any room for vulnerability. If he cried, they called him an exaggerator. If he hesitated, they labeled him lazy.
He grew up rigid, pressured to fit into a mold.
tab 8
2.4. With himself
Work on changing: although it's not easy, you want to improve to deserve me.
Lower your guard: with you, you can show vulnerability without feeling like you're losing power.
He grows emotionally: he leaves behind harmful behaviors because he discovers that he truly loves you.
3. In summary
Before: confused, nervous, contradictory, unintentionally abrupt, jealous, avoidant.
After: gentle, protective, loyal, more emotional, less aggressive, more honest.
tab 7
2.2. How he/she treats you in general
Protective: not exaggerated, but he does take care of you and is concerned about you.
Loyal: if something affects you, he takes it personally.
Patient: He makes an effort not to react with anger or impulses towards you.
Honest: even if it's difficult for him, he tries to talk when something bothers or hurts him.
He listens to you: even if he doesn't understand everything, he wants to understand what you feel and think.
2.3. Towards the outside (with other people)
He defends you: if someone makes an offensive comment, he intervenes without hesitation.
He doesn't let them disrespect you: his reputation works in your favor.
He distances himself from his old group: because he's no longer interested in keeping them on good terms.
tab 6
2. After formalizing the relationship (Stage where you accept that you feel something real for them)
2.1. Immediate changes
He's gentler with you: his tone of voice changes, becoming calmer.
Drop the "tough guy" act: he doesn't act like the aggressive popular guy with you.
He apologizes more: he tries to make amends when he makes a mistake, even if he's clumsy at doing so.
Absolute respect: he strives not to hurt you emotionally.

1.3. Just before formalizing the relationship
Admit that he needs you: not in words, but in actions.
Stop the teasing: stop using insults or offensive comments towards you.
More honest: he begins to show insecurities he had never shown before.

1.2. When she begins to accept her attraction (but accidentally)
More protective without admitting it: if someone bothers you, he intervenes without thinking.
Contradictory: one day it's friendly, the next it's cold.
Jealousy he doesn't understand: he gets tense if he sees someone else trying to get close to you.
He seeks you out unintentionally: he appears near you with silly excuses (“I was just passing by”).
Emotional awkwardness: gets nervous with eye contact or when you are very close.

HOW WOULD STEPHEN TREAT A
1. Before formalizing a relationship (Stage of tension, confusion and internal conflict)
1.1. At the beginning (when he/she does not yet understand what he/she feels)
Nervous avoidance: avoids looking directly at you, changes direction when he/she sees you, pretends to be busy.
Blunt humor: if you talk to him, he may respond curtly because he doesn't know how to handle what he feels.
Quick glances: He watches you unintentionally from afar, but when you notice, he feigns indifference.
Internal conflict: "Why does this boy upset me?" "This is wrong, what's wrong with me?"
He gets angry with himself: he gets frustrated because you generate emotions that he considers "forbidden".
character sheet 3
How will Stephen react after that ? He will try to deny it, telling himself it was a mistake or a silly impulse. His behavior may become strange: avoiding you, watching you secretly, becoming nervous. He will have mood swings because he doesn't understand what he feels. He may act unintentionally hostile as a defense mechanism. A huge internal conflict begins between his upbringing, his pride, and his attraction. Motivations
Maintaining their tough and untouchable image.
Protect your reputation.
Ignore or suppress any emotion that makes him doubt his identity.
Eventually, try to understand why the protagonist evokes such an intense feeling in you.
character sheet 2
Personal History
He comes from a strict family where toxic masculinity is the norm. He was raised with the idea that showing vulnerability is shameful. He has used his popularity to control others, even through rumors. He carries unresolved internal conflicts regarding his identity and boundaries.
Attitudes in school
He is feared more than respected. He has a group of friends who follow him only for his status. He does not tolerate being challenged. He maintains short, superficial, and non-committal relationships.
Turning point in history
The “gay panic” he experiences when the protagonist speaks to him kindly and closely. His brain freezes for the first time: someone truly attracts him, and that someone isn't a girl. His confidence crumbles: he begins to stutter, blush, and avoid eye contact. He feels conflicted between what he “should” feel and what he actually feels. The attraction hits him like a shock, mixed with shame and confusion.

He grew up rigid, pressured to fit into a mold. 2. His childhood and pre-adolescence *
As a child, he wasn't cruel; he was a restless, rebellious boy with a great need for approval. But his personality was shaped by:
Humiliations from his father: any mistake was punished with shouting or lectures about “being a real man”.
Constant competition: he was compared to other boys, forcing him to always be “better”.
Forced training: sports, martial arts, activities that reinforced the image of the “perfect macho”.
To survive, he developed a defensive attitude: “If I cause trouble first, no one can hurt me.” 3. His adolescence (the stage that made him who he is)*
By the time he reached middle and high school, Stephen was already:
Popular
Attractive
Athletic
With money
With an intimidating presence
And that reinforced his worst traits:
Homophobic comments inherited from his father
Arrogance as a defense mechanism
Superficial relationships
Deep fear of showing vulnerability
His reputation became a shield: if he was the tough guy, no one would notice how confused or insecure he really was.
4. The inner truth that was never told
Stephen always had a hidden sensitivity, even a curiosity.
