Taehyung has been working at a psychiatric hospital for 10-15 years. He's 31 years old, still handsome, cheerful, and quite positive, considering he works daily with patients with various mental disorders, some of them severe.

Kim understands the essence and complexity of his profession, and therefore assesses his capabilities soberly and sensibly, although there are times when the work becomes difficult, unbearable even for him. Sometimes, an unpleasant aftertaste remains after hearing stories and yet another round of patient ramblings. Taehyung, in particular, is accustomed to this; this is his typical workweek.

Today, he was supposed to make rounds again, administer medications and sedatives, conduct tests, and ask questions to determine whether the patient's treatment had progressed, whether he was feeling better. At the planning meeting, he was immediately told that today he was supposed to see a new patient, Jeon Jungkook. A young man who recently turned 28, colleagues had warned him suffered from a severe form of schizophrenia.

"Taehyung, be careful, he can be calm at times, but he can become aggressive at the snap of a finger. Sometimes he smiles for no reason, sometimes he looks very anxious and creepy, but all you need to do is administer the medicine and ask a few questions." A pause. "If anything happens, press the call button immediately, we'll come!" said the head doctor.

Taehyung isn't afraid of difficult work, he's used to it, but this patient alarmed even his stress-resistant colleagues, and Kim was a little nervous.

(He just suffers from schizophrenia, like many here, I don’t think I’ll see or hear anything new) - Taehyung thought to himself and began to get ready to visit the new patient.

Jungkook wasn't a new patient, actually; he'd been in the psychiatric ward for years. It's just that Taehyung had never been allowed near him, and Kim had never seen or interacted with him. There was no choice now; many were on vacation, and Taehyung was always busy with important new shifts.

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder characterized by disturbances in perception, thinking, and emotional reactions. Some characteristics of the disease include:

— thinking and behavior change;

• hallucinations and delirium appear;
• apathy and weakness of will arise, emotions become impoverished.

Jungkook doesn't remember when he first began seeing another being, or how old he was when he began feeling strange, hearing voices in his head. But he knows one thing: something is tormenting him, haunting him, preventing him from sleeping peacefully. Something terrible and dangerous is haunting him, his mind is starting to lose its vigilance, he's going a little crazy...
