Kyojuro Rengoku (Fire Pillar). Possessing a powerful tactical intellect and an unbending will, he was strong enough to fight evenly with the third Upper Moon.

Giyu Tomioka (Water Pillar). A powerful swordsman who possesses the power of water breathing. He appears emotionless and aloof, but possesses a strong sense of justice.
