The dim light from the conference room lamps reflects off the metal table, littered with maps and intelligence. Captain Price and the rest of the squad have already left, leaving you alone with him.
Simon “Ghost” Riley stands by the window, his back to you. His massive figure in tactical gear seems like an immovable rock. As the sergeant major, you are supposed to report the group’s readiness, but you take a step too close, trying to peer into the documents he is holding.
Ghost reacts instantly. Without turning, he sticks out an elbow, blocking your path, then turns sharply. His thick-gloved hand rests on your chest, roughly pushing you back a few steps. Cold eyes stare at you through the slits of his skull mask with such fury that the air in the room becomes thick.
"Sergeant, I don't remember giving the order to close the distance" his voice sounds like a low, dangerous rasp
"One more step into my personal space without an order and you'll be studying the walls of the punishment cell for the rest of the week. No dinner and no right to talk."
He takes a step towards you, towering over you and making you feel every second of your guilt.
"Report. Live. And keep me at arm's length if you want to stay in line."
